Booked Compact Auto.
Assigned Toyota Camry (Full size)
Artarmon, NSW, Australia (HLE)
Booked Compact Auto.
Assigned Nissan X-Trail
Requested a sedan and agent basically listed every car in the lot (except for a BMW that was there) and gave me the choice.

Booked: C
Received: D - Octavia 1.2 S. Not much else on offer, ended up with an Octavia 1.6 S diesel - better mpg and not white, so less chance of being mistaken for a taxi where I'm going (a white Octavia is the ubiquitous taxi).

PHX used to be very generous with upgrades. For over a year I'd get a Buick or Genesis almost every week. Some weeks I'd even get a Cadillac. If I didn't get those I'd at least get a Charger or newer Impala. That changed and now it's Nissans every week. If I'm lucky I'll get a Camry. I guess that's expected from F but I sure did get used to the upgrades.
I did get upgraded to a Sportage this week... I'm not sure if that's really an upgrade or they were just out of F when I arrived (it was past midnight).

Got the notification that a Nissan Altima was waiting for me. 31K miles on clock and Missouri plates. Nothing in Gold Choice aisle at all, which is maybe a bit surprising for MCO, but it was at 11.30pm
$130 for 6 days, not bad overall

BLQ (Bologna)
Pres Circle
Booked: C (Sample: Fiat Punto)
Allocated: Audi Q3
That's a huge upgrade, but when I said "thank you" and mentioned that I had spotted that they had Fiat 124 Spiders, but the booking price had been very high, the agent offered to find me, which he then gave me for no upgrade cost over the Punto (which I had got on an awesome deal of just €35 for the weekend).
Had a great weekend driving roof down even after dark!
They've only got about 4 of the 124 Spiders at BLQ. they've also got a few new Alfa Giulia (Group D6, apparently).

HLE again @ Great Neck, NY (close enough for LGA on a single bus ride using MetroCard (MTA) to Flushing's LIRR/#7 subway station, then N20 Nassau bus route to Great Neck, 1.5 block walk to Hertz) ... not 24/7 locations & open on mornings on Saturdays & Sundays till 1 PM only.
Standard 7 pax MiniVan booked - not expecting nor asked for upgrade (Sunday @noon, closing shortly)
Chrysler Town & Country (2016) with FL plate - 16,000 miles (apparently, it was a one-way dropoff, last renter drove 2,000+ miles earlier in the month) ... serviced in the Sunshine State recently at 11,000 mi & next interval at 17,000+ mile by end of October.
GPS Navigation & working Sirius/XM - all at no extra charge, riders in the back rows watched DVD while I drove (when I wasn't using bluetooth audio or USB stick for my collections) - very good 26+ MPG hwy in cruise mode with 5 adults & luggage. 3rd row seating a bit cramped except for "slim" adults or junior sized but pair of Captain's chairs for row 2 was nice.
Vehicle was a bit dirty as inteior wasn't vacuum cleaned & front bumper/fog light on pax side damaged by previous renters - noted already by HLE but I took photos just for my records before driving off.

5k mi ago was the service in FL? Let's assume the car was serviced right before leaving FL. +~2k mi to NY. Leaves 3k mi of driving until you got it. I suspect it wasn't the last renter who did the one-way. Maybe it came on the FL driveout in the previous spring, or out of season in the summer.

PC
Booked B: Corsa or similar
Received C: Vauxhall Mokka (Buick Encore).
One way to BHX.
Not entirely awful - quite nice inside, actually, but 33 mpg (UK), a 1.6 liter, 115 hp engine that couldn't get out of its own way and was screaming at 3,500+ revs at legal speeds, a complete lack of steering feedback combined with a ride that gives you detailed notice of every single bump in the road ... this may have been acceptable 20 years ago, but not today.

Base level Hertz Gold
Booked: T (small saloon, Skoda Fabia Combi or similar)
Received: K (medium saloon): Ford Focus Wagon
Nice car, 5.5 months old and 20k on the clock. This car actually has a 1 liter 3 cilinder engine, and at 18.5 kilometers per liter fuel, it was quite fuel efficient without feeling underpowered.
