Originally offered a Spark, I thought I was a Economy so I grunted a bit and he said I could just have the 200.

Amazingly, Focus and Spark are in group B in the US! In the UK, they'd be an A and a C, respectively (no Sparks currently in the fleet, nor will there be as Chevrolet has withdrawn from the UK market).

Anyway, this is mine:

Location: LHR - one way to LGW
Reserved: (C) - Ford Focus
Options: None
Assigned: (K) - 2015 Volvo V40 R-Design

Very nice car, well equipped with nav, although there were two instances of unrecorded damage, one of which I missed until the car was returned, but thankfully I wasn't dinged.

After the awful 'downgrade' last week, I was happy to see a return to form.

Upgrade? Ish? L - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo w/ 3k miles. Totally bare bones

Stopped at the Gold booth and asked for something smaller...

I - 2015 Cadillac CTS with XM and factory nav ^

Didn't notice the 13,000 miles until the next day, but it drove fine.

One of the people told me they were about to assign me a prestige car before they noticed I was underage. Not surprised they really stick to the rules in Vegas but first time I ever experienced that.

BOI
Tues 5/19 to Thurs 5/21
Reserved: C
Received: Toyota Sequoya

They don't have a gold board at BOI, you have to go in the line, but they have a side line for Gold... When they asked if this vehicle would work, I asked, "is that an SUV?"

She answered, "Yes."

My answer when I returned it, "this thing is a monster!"

It was fairly loaded, with sat radio, sunroof, all kinds of heating/cooling. Plus room for 7 full-sized adults--I shuttled 6 others from my hotel to an event. Not much storage space in the back when the 3rd row was up, but they all seemed comfortable.

One thing I like about renting cars is to see if I'd want to purchase one. While this was nice, it is just too big. Parking was a bit difficult. But driving...when I put on a signal to change lanes, cars seemed to let me right over.

C4 - 2015 Chevy Cruze 2LT w/ 2400 miles

Pretty nice. Love that there's a color touchscreen (finally!).

Right as I was returning it (early) my flight took a delay, so decided to try something else...

C - 2014 Nissan Sentra

Interior looked (and sounded) like it was out of the 90s!

Grrr. Was at ORD yesterday, booked FCAR, got...a Malibu. Which is a perfectly nice FCAR, but not a C300.

I informed my coworkers and the immediate response was that they must have run out of Impalas and Malibus

I've heard that there's some more weighting to the Hertz upgrades than merely status and availability (some sort of metric of sorts for prioritizing). I wasn't getting any upgrades before (have been PC for a couple years) but in the past few weeks I've been 2/3 on upgrades (last week was a miss but the week before they gave me a Buick Lacrosse).

Not sure if it's a happy coincidence or they're liking me more. Hertz also emailed me with an auto-enrolled targeted triple points offer for rentals from May 21-June 15th. So maybe I just satisfied some formula.
