Drop-off Charges
 

How does Hertz determine drop off charges on a one-way rental? By price or class of rental? Or the distance between the two locations?

In my never-ending quest to rent that A6, I'm trying to find out if it would be cheaper just to take a short commuter bus to ORD (I'm in MKE), rent the A6, return it to ORD, take the commuter bus back -- OR -- take the commuter bus to ORD, rent the A6, then just drop it off in MKE and pay the drop off charges.

If the difference isn't that much, that's what I'll probably do.

Why don't you just go to Hertz.com and price out the two different options? You'll get a faster and more accurate response to the meat of your question.

I did that already. Hertz.com won't let you rent them (A6s) one way, even though you can just drop off any car at any location -- the computer doesn't let you.

I'm just wondering it will be higher than your standard drop off fees.
