I think this might be a problem at YYZ. YYZ seems to be getting really strict with coupon usage.

BTW, in response to Rut Dog's post, I do have a AAA card. But I just find it inconvenient to have to go through the trouble to show it everytime I use a AAA coupon.

I don't know why I'm not getting this to work for me, but I'm trying to book a car for Oct 4-9 (It's going to end up being 6 days due to time) in LGA and the best I can do with Neverlost is about 471.00 All the codes I'm trying aren't working, they're saying I didn't fulfill the rules. This rate of 471 is from a corporate code for a company my buddy works for and unfortunately with that, my points also go to said company.

My kingdom to anyone who can get me under $400.

Is this code available for anyone to use, or is there confirmation at rental time?

Do you have to stay with Hertz? Using the National "free weekend day" coupon on their site, you can get a midsize car with Navigation for $398.03 total.

Never been asked for my AAA card that I can recall. Shouldn't be a problem especially if you're Gold.

In my experience it doesn't matter which AAA club code you use. 215 happens to be the one I belong to, but you can just use 1 as someone mentioned above. Many of these low numbers (if not all) are valid CDPs for AAA rates/benefits. Note that some extra benefits given AAA customers would not work should you get into such situations. I think there's a minimal primary liability benefit or something like that, but if you hit someone, and you've used the AAA CDP and aren't a member, well, don't expect to get that benefit, clearly. Other than that, though, in most locations you're probably okay.

I am a CAA member and haven't been asked to produce my CAA card yet at any Hertz location when picking up my #1 Gold rental when using the CAA CDP.

What's the best way to make use of the $20 off coupon at an HLE? Seems like a cheap and easy way to get 5* status at $3 per rental. Pickup car in the morning, use it to commute to work, drop it back off in the evening every day for a week... Do you think anybody would care if I showed up there 5 days in a row for a new rental?

I doubt you'll find a rate during the week that can get you down to $3 per day. If you can, good job, otherwise your best bet might be to pickup on Friday afternoon, return Sat afternoon and then pickup again on Sunday afternoon and drop off Monday afternoon. I'm not sure how it would work if you tried to do 5 straight days of one-day pickups. I don't know how they do the credits..................with hotels if you checkout and then check back in again the same day it counts as the same stay. I dunno if it's a similar case for car rentals or not........................If driving it is too much of a hassle and you really don't even want the rental car, it might just be easier to rent it, drive it off the lot, then back on the lot and turn it back in. That would count for a day and would save you from leaving your car at the HLE for long periods of time....................

Should work as long as you work on weekends and your HLE is open when you plan your pick up and drop off...

Oh yeah, I didn't even realize when I replied that the $20 off coupon code is only valid on weekends................so the answer is: No, you cannot do this 5 straight days during the week...

I vaguely remember that Hertz requires 48 hours between rentals in the same city to count as separate rentals for status/points.

I did 3 successful rentals last weekend (Fri, Sat and Sun) from the same HLE, kept the same car but made sure they closed out the rental each day. 5100 miles posted to my BD account - 1700 for each of the three days. Not bad for a total outlay of $7.59 in rental costs and $16 in gas. ^

I've no idea where to see if Hertz posted them as separate rentals for 5* status qualification...where does one check for that?

I've seen several posts citing really favorable rates using CDP 1757580 but every time i've tried it (daily, weekly or weekend in various locations) the quoted rates are always much higher than the other standard promos.posted on the Hertz site.

just curious what types of rentals or locations have you've found that C&D CDP to be the best option?

thx
