Hertz Refusing to Credit FF Miles
Hey all - I would appreciate some help, as I don't rent with Hertz super frequently.
On a recent rental, I tried to collect some Aegean (A3) miles on the reservation. The rental was booked directly with Hertz, and had my FF # attached to it and written on the agreement. The car class reserved was an ICAR, and I ended up taking an intermediate SUV instead from the UC lot. I did use an AMEX Platinum CDP on the rental. The rental was prepaid in a foreign currency. 4 months goes past, and of course, no points to be seen. I submitted a retroactive points request, and they say that the car class rented is not eligible for FF miles. I tried replying to get further clarification, and have not heard back in 2 months. I called in, and they advised me to refill out the request, which was again denied for the same reason above. I tried contacting their social media team, and they are now saying that (a) my account was "not set up to earn FF miles" [despite my FF miles number/program being directly on the agreement, and set to default to that in my profile], and (b) my use of a CDP disqualified me from being able to earn FF miles, as they "can only honor one code at a time". Can someone with more experience with this comment on whether any of the above is true? I can't recall using a CDP ever being a reason to not earn FF miles, as it's not a "code". Seems that nobody can help me and/or they just reply with minimal explanation. Thanks! |

I have also found that the prepaid rates tend to code as an online travel agency; or at least Hertz thinks that you've booked through an OTA. I've had to be persistent and explain this to the president's circle line and they eventually relented. |

I have found that their frequent flier program system is pretty glitchy. You'd want to only have one number in there (Gold Rewards or Frequent Flier program) in your profile.

I swear I've tried that number, and it re-directs me automatically to the general line. Perhaps it does so since I'm not located in the US... |
I had been using 1-888-444-8600 from Canada. It's usually answered within 3 rings at the end of the call tree.
The service agents at the counter have gone downhill quite a bit in the last 5 years. The agents on the phone have been better; at least the ones I've dealt with. |
