germany hertz fleet. what are the options?

Hey guys,

so I've been trying to find out what the "and similar" are for different classes in germany. 2 years ago when I rented I lucked out I think in going with the IDAR group and ended up with a ford grand c max. unfortunately I see that ford no longer makes them. So i'm looking for something similar. I have a reservation for a Group O and a group N. Peugot 3008 or ford Mondeo... not bad but curious as to what are the other options for those groups. I've tried to find contact info but short of calling the actual location... (8 hour time difference) i'd like to see if there are any other options for finding out the info.

Ok, I did a quick search on the Hertz.de website and this is what they have displayed. They do not have the model names on the German website, so I cross-checked with the French website doing a dummy booking on Frankfurt airport in November
Group O Ford Mondeo or similar: Citroen C4, Ford Mondeo, Opel insigna, Ford Grand C-max
Group N Peugeot 3008: Peugeot 3008, Nissan Qasqai, Ford Kuga
Hope this helps!
FYI, I've found that the French website is quite useful for "or similar" models, with help of Google Translate you should be able to check on your booking place and time. Since production has stopped, if your booking is next year there's little chance to get a C-max indeed

thanks I didn't know about the French site offering more info sweet

I did find this https://www.mietwagen-talk.de/lexicon/entry/58-idar/ so interesting that some have listed different options there. who knows how accurate that might be.

wish there was an email address for locations.. that would be so much easier to find out

If you don’t get an upgrade, Insignia or similar means 90% Mondeo. 1.5 gas engine is anemic and thirsty; diesels are much better and diesel is also about 15c/Liter cheaper, saving you about €5 for every 100km.
