First time attempting to make a reservation on the redesigned website. What an effing disaster. Trying to enter CDP in the pop up window - Click the traveling for Business radio button and it pops over to Leisure. "Enter a new CDP" I type the code and when I blur the field it fills in some other CDP. The Apply Discount pop up window has the most unintuitive buggy interface. At one point I could select from a list of my CDPs on file, but later in the session the dropdown box didn't populate.
The old site had it's issues but this is unbelievably bad. They've got to be losing business from this. Edit: Went back to the site again and it's showing the old interface that I'm familiar with. W T F ? Are they doing a random A/B trial? |
You can tell just how little Hertz cares about anything based on the god awful website and their abysmal customer service.
I think 'leadership' is there just to collect a paycheck until the company gets sold off or goes bankrupt again. |
Don't disagree. What's unfortunate, although "we" paint Hertz with one brush, there are locations I've found that have friendly, helpful and professional employees who go out of their way to make the rentals efficient, issue free, with rental prices much lower than other rental car companies. It's a shame that corporate and those locations that have absolutely awful customer service, are taking everyone down with them.

Can't cancel a reservation on the 'new' website... keep getting a token error, followed by just nothing with only an 'Error' text on the page instead of a cancel confirmation or being able to view upcoming reservations.
Found my confirmation email and clicked on the manage reservation link, and it took me to the 'old' style website interface, which let me cancel... I think. Amazing just how horrid their website and entire interface, UX is. |
I've had pr:mad:blems selecting a CDP using the new interface. It lets me select it but then 1/4 second later reverts to the default one.

Just checking a reservation for the 26 and now the price has changed dramatically. Went from 400 or 500 to a maxed out rate of 1500+. I am sure they did an update and that reset all the rates. Calling the president's circle line, and I get regular reservations that does not understand my questions or issues.

Making some res to use up my points. Approx 6pm yesterday, same interface I've seen for the last year. Went back in after midnight and a different interface. Attempted to make a res for HSV in August, several immediate problems.
1. When selecting a car I get the response that my Company requires me to use the corporate rate (ok well that why I have the CDP in there). 2. Try and remove the CDP, the system won't let me remove or change, keeps reverting to the initial CDP. 3. Tried to book without CDP, still get the corporate rate error message. 4. Give up and wait till morning 5. HSV has no car options for midsize or below. 6. CDP error again, different error message. 7. Able to take out CDP 8. Get to last page to select reward rental (it's a 3 day rental). Shows me 1 day, 2 day and 2 day one way, weekly one way. No option for 3 days, and of course my rental is not a one way rental. Now, have to make at least one rental to use up my 5 year points, but who knows if it will give me the appropriate car option and the correct points. |
Tried once again, this afternoon, to book reservation on the web. Getting various error messages. Finally went to the App to see if I get a different answer. Well, of course I do. Still missing the lower cost vehicles, but I'm using rewards, so don't really care. Web still not showing all the reward options, (I need 3 days but it only shows 3 days one-way), the App shows the 3 day rental.
Not sure how they've let this go all day long. Maybe I'm the only one having problems. |
What’s Up Hertz
I hope Hertz monitors social media.
For 7 days Hertz has locked my Presidents Club account for unknown reasons. Redownloaded the app several times. Presidents Club line rep told me that “the system is down” but my wife can log into her account fine. Looks like I’ll be taking my business to Avis or National. Hertz, please get a grip. |
I went to Hertz site, tried to login and it failed. I went back to hertz.com and did an availability search. It prompted me to login, which then worked for me.

I'll merge this thread with the consolidated Hertz website issues.

Today I tried to make an inexpensive local car rental reservation with return to the airport the next day to use for my home to airport transportation on a future planned vacation. Since I was signed in already the name and credit card information was prepopulated from my profile. When I tried to complete the reservation it errored out saying First name, Last name, and a bunch of credit card details were missing. Of course there was no place to enter any of that since it was using my saved profile info.
Gave up and reserved an Uber pickup in advance instead. |
lol im getting 60 cent USD/day (yes, 0.60) selections on the Hertz website but when I try to confirm the booking it saysTypeError: NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource., NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource.
:p:p |
Trying to book a 4 days rental at KEF airport Iceland. Logged in with my account details including Amex EMEA discount code and I get nothing but select for quote. I then get nothing at all. If I sign out I get expensive rates. This on Hertz.co.uk
I was previously able get great rates using Hertz.com.au but now when logged in I get rates so high I could buy the car. I dont rent very often, but have president membership. Is it always this bad? |
