How long can you delay picking up the car before they cancel it?

Generally, they will hold a booking until the end of the calendar day. If you are flying in, it's best to have your flight information attached to the reservation as that will ensure that they are aware of your actual arrival time. If your reservation is for a late arrival (say 10PM) they will usually be pretty lenient if you arrive early the following day, but I wouldn't push it more than say 12 hours or so.

Zero problem. That's pretty much considered on-time (especially with the way the Hertz LAX bus sometimes runs). :rolleyes:

Sometimes it is worth it to me to grab a meal in the terminal to avoid charges that will roll over a 24 hr day and into extra hours.

I think he's saying that if he needs a rental for say 3 days and 2 hours, rather than pay for the extra day he'll just pick up a little later or return a bit earlier to keep it to 3 days even. It's a bit different than what the OP asked about.
