Mod note - As of 7/25/2018: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this CDP. It's great" type of posts. When the CDP doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the CDP of someone so the poster can earn perks from their Hertz Corporate account. From here out, please put the company/trade group/etc that's associated with the CDP or we'll delete the post to keep it on-topic here

Thanks, I checked out your website and submitted a couple of requests. Perhaps you guys can get your coupon area updated where expired coupons are no longer showing up?

Fair point. We'll get the expired ones cleaned up on our coupons page. Just as a point of clarification, sometimes expired ones work past their expiration date or get extended by the rental company. Our automated system can detect which ones work and which do not on the fly so when you put in a request, it all comes out in the wash so-to-speak. Also note that what's shown on our coupons page is only a subset of the ones loaded into our automated system.

Interesting new twist on AAA CDP. I just did a reservation and was required to put in my member number. This was before it asked my name, so all they would appear to be doing is verifying that it is a legit AAA number. I don't mind, I'm a member in good standing and have been for decades.

I did not see the same behavior on a couple other CDPs I tried. But the AAA rate is good and I'm legit so will stay with that.

I just tried a test reservation on Hertz.com and was not prompted using a few different AAA CDPs. It may be something they're testing. That said, Avis does the same with the Costco member number, although all they really do is validate that the number number of digits marches the correct format. Not sure exactly what Hertz is doing here.

Interesting. When I had this experience earlier today, there was definitely a different user interface for making a reservation (from the hertz.com splash page) so maybe there is some experimental stuff going on.

I seem to get the new and old site depending on where I'm booking. UK tends to give me the new, AU tends to give me the old.

Does anyone know if PC codes that are $off apply only to base rate or to the entire final cost?
For example would sufficiently large PC code (2x$100 off) cover most of the reservation below? The hertz website only shows base rate being discounted when the PC code is applied. The fees stay in place at ~$75.

BASE RATE
1 week at 174.00 USD 174.00 USD
TAXES27.68 USD

Airport Concession Fee 19.34 USD
Vehicle Licensing Fee Recovery 19.39 USD
AP CONTRACT FEE 28.00 USD
AMOUNT TO BE PAID AT TIME OF RENT 268.41 USD

I plan to use chase CSR card for CDW and I believe if its only fees and no car rate being charged at all - the coverage wont apply.

PC codes typically only apply to the base rate--not the taxes and fees. Additionally, you usually can only apply one PC code per rental. There are no public PC codes that provide $100 off, so it sounds like you have some sort of voucher or $-off certificate. Those may be handled differently.

It's also worth noting that Hertz.com does not always calculate the taxes and fees correctly for $-off and free day certificates so just because the website is showing a certain amount in taxes and fees doesn't necessarily mean that's what you'll pay at the counter ultimately.

Has Hertz' AAA discount program been dramatically altered recently? I rented a car for around $160/week just last month at BNA. I'm going back there next week and the reservations are showing as $240+/week.

Yep, people forget that car rental rates are based on supply and demand. Fixed rates only exist in corporate contracts. They will charge whatever the market will bear. AAA/Costco/etc. will help, but it's still a % off the rack rate.

Hint: AutoSlash can help.

Is it now geared more towards US rentals? I've submitted one rental in France to track a couple of weeks ago and haven't gotten anything from autoslash website apart from the confirmation e-mail

It would be better if it supported drivers under 25.

My understanding is that Hertz waives the Under-25 fee for AAA members, per several co-workers at my company.
