Now that Chevrolet is going to end production of Hertz Fleet staples like the Cruze and Impala (along with Ford ending the Focus, Fusion, and Taurus), I'm hopeful for a little more diversity in the sedan car classes. That being said, the options are growing more limited!

The Fusion is confirmed to continue production for at least a couple years. I would not be surprised if GM continues limited production runs on the Cruze and Impala for rental fleets to appease critics like the Trump administration for slashing jobs.

I think some of them will survive specifically as rental fleet vehicles. Chevy kept making the last-gen Impala for several years after the new one came out for rental fleets and other company fleets. They even carried 2016 and 2017 model year names. In fact, I saw one in a Hertz airport lot and another at an Avis lot just this year. And the Dodge Grand Caravan was supposed to die with the Chrysler Pacifica release but they're still going strong, on National lots especially. They still sell them to customers too.

In this case, it looks like they're gone for good. The Cruze sedan is built exclusively at a plant in Ohio which is being completely shut down. It's conceivable the Cruze hatchback could stick around since it's imported from Mexico and IIRC will be sold internationally. The Impala and LaCrosse plants are also shuttering, although some Buick production may be shifting to China since Buicks are huge sellers there. In the case of Prior gen Impala/Cruze/Malibu and the Dodge vans, those plants remained open to build other vehicles.

Just got an update, Hertz had re classed the Land Rovers again
Discovery Z4 > T4
Its been the 4th time they are re classing cars
