Saturday July 3rd

Saturday AM. Full size reservation. Not many members on the board. About 4 nondescript midsize cars/suvs in PC. Had RR Evoque, BMW 5 Series (2020/2019?) in Premium Upgrades. As I went to the Gold Desk to negotiate/pay for the upgrade, someone snagged the 5 series. Luckily there was a 2020 BMW X5 (30K miles! in excellent shape though) in the reserved section, which I was able to take. A Cadillac XT5 was dropped in the PC section as I was at the Gold Desk. Not the best gas mileage for the BMW, but an awesome ride for the long trip I had over the weekend.

Not bad selection at ORD. President Circle has been reduced down maybe 10-15 spots.

PC had x2 2021 Ford Explorer XLT, x1 Infiniti QX60, x1 2020 Jeep Gladiator, x1 2021 Ford Escape, x1 2021 Chevy Equinox. I ended up taking the Gladiator with 20k miles.

Hi - Has anyone picked up a car late a night recently at ORD. I land at 11:47pm on an AA flight. The email I just received says they close at midnight and open at 5am, when I call the ORD Hertz phone number the automated system says they are open 24/7. I am PC. Thanks!

Any idea what's going on at ORD? Hertz website says nothing is available all this week now even doing 24 hour rentals. Trying to rent something tomorrow and can't.

Still the effects of the car shortage, due to COVID? Lately, reservation availability has closed a week prior at Hertz ORD. Since all the rentals are at the multimodal facility, I always make additional reservations with National and Sixt, as backups. Thrifty and Dollar are at the same facility, as well. Good luck.

Probably has something to do with the Ryder Cup in Sheboygan, 75 minutes north of MKE.

MKE is also out of cars.

Yep so MKE hotels were slammed and ORD said they had no cars but in reality I had no issue. AVIS and Budget had plenty, Hertz was a little low but had no issues giving me a premium car.

I was there last week and there was a decent selection that was fully stocked, which was quite surprising with all the events happening that week. PC was very SUV heavy, various entry level SUV Chevy Equinox's, Nissan Rogue's/Kicks, Ford Explorers, and one Jeep Cherokee. Only non-SUV that was in PC was a Mustang GT Premium w/ 9k miles on it that I took.

Anyone has experience in Chicago Midway airport? Selection for president's circle similar to O'Hare's ? I am planning to pick up EARLY morning. Thanks!

Any recent data points from PC? National is still $150+ more than Hertz with my corporate discount, so I'm likely to rent from them. TIA!

Picked up this evening around 8 PM. PC was all SUVs, mostly RAV4s and Equinoxes, with a handful of CR-Vs and Rogues. I was hoping to grab either a hybrid or something electric but I didn't spot anything in the reserved sections or in premium upgrades. Five Star was completely empty, Gold was all Malibus. Ended up grabbing a 2022 CR-V EX AWD with 2,000 miles. Still smells new and it has the cargo cover in the trunk which I always appreciate.

If you need a large SUV or minivan, I would suggest reserving one. Chances of one being in PC anymore are very slim. You could always inquire as to the upgrade fee, but it will be dependent upon if one is available; and the fee could be as low as $25, but most likely to be around $100/day for large SUV.

Reserve the vehicle size you need.

Went tonight, Saturday 3/18 at 10pm - not sure if that’s a good or horrible time?

PC was fairly empty (around 15-20) but had boring stuff - equinox, traverse, envision, rogue, etc.

In a couple reserved spots there were Mustang / Camaro convertibles and a couple random V6 base chargers sprinkled around.

I specifically wanted a charger r/t and hoped I get lucky - agent said they rarely if ever get those and it’s especially rare to get V8’s of any kind in the winter.

FWIW, I checked a couple weeks ago on a weekday and it was similarly uninspiring. National had a far better selection.
