Why so few miles?

I rented from Hertz in Sydney and received only 55 miles for a 3 day rental. My total was $147.02 USD.

Also, I rented from Hertz in Brisbane and received only 28 miles for a 2 day rental. My total was $66.79

What gives? My Avis rentals in Cairns and Auckland, NZ credited my freq flyer account 50 miles a day...

did Hertz charge you the $3.00 USD (?) per day penalty for collecting your bonus free frequent flyer miles, by the way??

No obvious listing of any mileage surcharges on the cryptic statement....

No miles for you! You have had the ultimate pleasure to rent from Hertz, and the sensation of driving a Hertz Rent-A-Wreck more than makes up for the lack of miles or other perks http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Mystery partially resolved?

I requested and received AA miles for my Hertz rentals. I recently read somewhere that AA will not allow Hertz to impose a surcharge on customers requesting AA miles. So, Hertz compensates by only offering 1 mile for every 2 dollars in rental fees to those requesting AA miles.

Maybe this has something to dowith the feeble mileage earning. One fact that I do know is I will avoid Hertz if at all possible.
