Daily rental charges changing during reservation process?

So reserving a car for a weekend trip and the screen tells me it's 4 weekend days at 18.35 each... (++ of course)
So I click "SUBMIT" - I like this rate and I wanna book it...

Payment screen comes up - and guess what - daily rate changed to 21.59 (++).

Bait and switch, a bug or something I simply don't understand?!
