How fast are bonus points added?
 

Hello,

how quickly after a rental is completed does Hertz post the revelant reward points and bonus rewards points?

I would like to book a reward rental, but I'm a short in points. However, I have another rental a few days earlier, which will provide the missing points.

Is the Hertz call centre able to see the points faster than the online system?

I've never really paid attention. But they seem to only take a day or two. I wouldn't bet the farm that you'll have them in time to get another rental within 2-3 days though. Sometimes they don't even charge my card until the Monday after I return on Friday, and the points aren't going to be added before they get their payment.

Also, rewards rentals require 24 hour advance notice.

My experience is that it takes only an hour or two, if not less. Very fast.

IME, they posted points almost immediately after returning the car. The # of rentals YTD counter seems to update the next day.

Today I got them within an hour. But I played for my returned rental at the counter with my debit card.

However, if I'm not mistaken they will not post points until they get money. So if they wait 3 days to charge your card it will be 3 days before you get your points.

The number of points on return slip is credited very fast. That normally includes the bonus for 5*/pc, and things like the current triple points promotion. Bonus points for something like the every 15 rental free day will take longer.

Hmmm, thank you. I was offered double points (first rental in the triple points promotion), 550 "come back" bonus, and 275 points "birthday" bonus. I'm not sure how much they stack up, but the 550 points bonus is the one I want most. :-)

Nice. I haven't received any 275 birthday bonus points though. It's no big deal to me really. I'm earning like 4k points per month anyway during this bonus. ;)

I stand corrected. This may not be relevant anymore, but today my points were there, including my 375% bonus points, when I checked 5 minutes after leaving Hertz and they still haven't charged my card. It's been 3.5 hours since I left.

I never paid attention before because I never needed to know.


Edit: It's now Monday morning and they still haven't charged my CC. I expect they will later today. I returned the vehicle on Friday in the early afternoon.
