Is this a new policy? I tried to make a last minute reservation today with my gold points and would not work online. Called the gold desk and said you have to reserve at least one day in advance to use points. Just kinda pissed me off. Having built up over 50,000 points think I should use them when I want.

As of July 1, 2014.

A Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Rental requires a one-day advanced reservation and the Hertz redemption reward desired must be selected at the time of the reservation.

I think you should also decide how many points should be required for each rental.
