More information can be found on the first page of this thread.

Additionally, you can save time by having AutoSlash generate a quote for you up-front by clicking here, or if you've already got a rental booked, just click here to enter your info and AutoSlash will check to see if a lower rate is available.

If you're looking for a specialty vehicle from Hertz (something from the Prestige/Adrenaline/Green Collections), it is helpful if you can specify the four-letter car size code (i.e. ICAR, MVAR, etc.) shown on the Hertz website for the specific vehicle you're looking for.

A corporate code you don't qualify for, usually one for a major company like IBM, etc.

Found price of $212 on Hertz for Compact. I have a $25 off coupon (PC 179550) but it does not show in the quote so that should bring the total to $187.

Can anyone beat this rate? Anyone knows what the LDW goes for? I don't want any hassles when I drop off the car. My first time in Europe. Thx.

I reserved a car with a rent-a-wreck for this trip, but it'd be great to stick to Hertz. I'm spending 3 days with my parents in between trips, and I'm not going to ask them to pick me up from the airport in the middle of the night. I'm not planning on driving much. I'll drive the 45 miles to the house from EWR, and run an errand or two in the burbs.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best rate for a midsize $180.55 with Budget and, to keep on-topic for this forum, $186.89 with Hertz.

Note those prices are without LDW. We are not really equipped to factor in the price of LDW. You can generally find the price of LDW on the Hertz site, though, and you can generally assume it's within a few dollars per day for other agencies in the area. It is often also listed in the "Rules & Information" tab of the search results in the above link, which accesses the raw text as submitted by the rental agencies to the travel agency GDS systems.

If you can find the 4-letter ACRISS code on Hertz's site for the kind of "small, fun car" you're interested in (i.e. PDAR, LSAR, etc.), we can search that, too. Also, it helps us greatly if you can include the ZIP code in your request, as that saves us the step of having to Google Map the town, zoom in, and locate the ZIP code of a sample address. In your case, that's 48336.

Best we could find: $172 for Budget and (to keep on-topic for this thread) $185.23 with Hertz.

Coverage in Europe is probably worth an entire thread of discussion all on its own. If a PC doesn't lower your reserved rate, it probably won't be applied. Don't count on that $25 coupon actually being applied to your rental. If it does, it's icing on the cake. (Just in case, I've applied it to the Hertz search link above.)

If you found $101 after all taxes and fees, KEEP IT. The lowest retail rate available right now is $418.91 (Dollar), and the best discount we could find was $257.45 (National) or to keep on-topic for this forum, $342.35 (Hertz, with USAA+a PC code). I'd imagine it's been some time since you found the rate and are only just now posting the request here? If so, rates have gone up (a lot) since you booked. Good thing you booked early!

Unfortunately, this approach seriously damages your credibility and makes me less likely to trust you in the future. You decided not to tell people that tracking isn't working or taking tracking requests off your website. You just encourage people to make tracking requests and then ignore them.

Oops, sorry for missing that one earlier. leafpile's rate is good--the best we could find matched it. And welcome to FlyerTalk, chefshaun!

Not much in the way of automatics available at CDG--you're limited to Compact, Premium, or Luxury. If you need an auto, the best we found was $251.95 for a Compact (Hertz with Flying Blue members discount).

If you can drive a stick, a lot more options open up at better prices.

Your Hertz and Avis rates are good.

We wouldn't recommend Fox due to a high number of customer complaints, but for less than Fox, you can do Alamo ($234) or, for just a few dollars more than that ($248), you can do National (a top-tier company more along the lines of Hertz and Avis).
