Upcoming rental

I am planning to rent a car for new years week, and driving to Texas.

Since I want to drive something nice, for the long trip I was thinking about just going straight for luxury bc I do not want an Impala, however they luxury options on the website show a 300 and a Buick ,at 28 I would like something more "fun",what other cars could be found under that category at Midway airport??
My guess would be O'Hare has a bigger selection and they also hay a new program starting Oct 25th where you can pick the car you want and being a 5 star upgrade to a prestige for what they call a low few, however prices at O'Hare are much higher than Midway ,although I have no tried it with my Marriott rewards code, which sometimes can get me a generous discount.

Upcoming rental

I am flying in to Tampa TPA over X-mas and have booked a standard SUV L SFAR.

Any ideas what to expect?
Could I expect a 2017 model?

Is this true? I reserved an adrenaline collection SS convertible for hawaii next month and it's pictured as a yellow 2016 model.

FYI IAD recently got a huge shipment of Audi A3's and A4's. Some are Quattro, some aren't. They all appear to be S-Line

The non-Quattro A3 appears to be YI, and the 2.0 Quattro A3 shows up on my receipt as X6.

Not surprisingly the Quattro is a much nicer ride and looks nicer. I didn't really like the non-Quattro version, although it still looks pretty good. They had no problem upgrading me to an A3 upon request for my last two rentals.

Let's talk SUV's at LAX.

I booked small SUV class (RAV4), but hoping to get something bigger, don't mind paying a small upgrade fee since my base rate is really low.

I am a big time car guy so have preferences such V8 engine and HID lights, which SUV's have them? Willing to step down to V6 if the car is nice. I have Gold Status, but have always gotten cool cars at LAX after being nice and friendly to the staff. So below all Cadillacs, Infinities, and so on, what should I ask for? I only saw 2017 Nissan Armada as potential, but do they have anything else?

I will be renting on Monday morning if that's relevant.

I don't know what's specifically at LAX, but V8 SUVs in Hertz's fleet include the Chevy/GMC Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban, Nissan Armada, and Toyota Sequoia. The turbocharged-V6 Ford Expedition is also in that class, though TBH I'm not a big fan of that engine in the F-150. As for the luxury brands, they should have the Cadillac Escalade and Infiniti QX80, but be prepared to pay a considerable premium for those.

I got an upgrade to a Lincoln Navigator at IAD earlier this year and that is definitely a V8.

Only until MY 2014 though - the 2015+ Expedition and Navigator have the V6 "Ecoboost".

Good morning everyone.
I booked a Luxury I (LCAR) car in FLL by redeeming some of my Gold Plus points.
I see that between the options I might get is a Chrysler 300. I would like to avoid that vehicle. Rented one in the past and it was an awful vehicle. Not worth the deal. What similar options are available in FLL? Am I able to upgrade for a small fee? Downgrade to a hybrid?
Comments?
Thanks and have a great week everyone!

Show up. Ask.

I think the 300 is the most common car in that class. And yes it is terrible.

We all have our preferences, but I love the 300. However note that there are two types of 300 in the Hertz fleet. The one with the sunroof is better overall.

And your point about showing up and asking is of course the best advice. I often do that, chat with an agent and shop around.
