Have Hertz removed the V6 Mustang from the fleet?! I've noticed it's not being returned (not even as sold out) from MCO and LAX?

Coming Soon: 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL450

Per the monthly gold email:

The new Mercedes-Benz GL450 is on its way to the Prestige Collection, joining an already imposing line of vehicles. This completely redesigned SUV offers a lavishly-appointed 7-passenger interior, and the confident capability of 362 horsepower and all-wheel-drive. It's just another way the Hertz Prestige Collection can make your next trip an unforgettable journey. 2012 models are already in the fleet and available to rent.

The Prestige Collection includes sedans, convertibles, and SUVs from world-class luxury manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, Cadillac, Infiniti, and Volvo. Prestige rentals include navigation and satellite radio, and allow you to select the exact model you want to drive.

They're no longer reservable online. However I'm sure you can upgrade to one when you're at the desk. They couldn't disappear that quickly.

Just saw one last month at the local HLE. Did not see what year or how many miles it had.

US fleet list for Hertz [updated]

Just picked up another Journey today, got the AWD version this time. Can confirm that the distinction between the YF and L tagging is the AWD.

FWIW, both Journeys have been the 5p variant.

Not getting the car I wanted in this weeks Hertz rental. Nothing fancy, but I hope it gets me safely to my destination.

Book below the class and ask to upgrade at the desk. I find that at the desk cheap upgrades are much more easily obtainable. Unfortunately I probably won't rent again until January, but I'll probably get an ICAR and use Gold Choice; if they don't have what I want I will definitely ask about it. I wouldn't mind paying an extra $5 per day for a very nice car.

Needed the car last minute. I'm renting at a Hertz in my town. They said they only had 2 choices, a Ford Escape not a 2013, and a Nissan Altima. Who knows what other choices they had elsewhere available. I am also trying to collect some discount codes to bring in when I pay for the rental (AAA and others).

I also wouldn't mind paying an extra $5 for a better looking car.

If they only have those two... book an ECAR and enjoy your epic upgrade

Cars at JFK

Passed by JFK. Saw a line of 3 or so black Crown Vics (the 4th one had pulled out and drove next to us pretty much all the way through Queens, saw that Hertz barcode). Sucks that they're black though There was also a key lime pie green Mustang convertible, gleaming in the morning light. I pity whoever gets upgraded to that

so they are still alive :-)
whereas imho the black ones still look best... due to the size you get at least some kind of feeling of driving a state limousine :-)

At least silver ones IMHO give off an unmarked cruiser vibe

BTW happy Thanksgiving everyone (at least for us American renters)! May we all have reason to be thankful in the coming year (i.e. good upgrades and decent cars)
