The 12-Passenger Van - Experience?

Does anyone have any experience renting a 12-passenger van (Ford Super Clubwagon (12 psgr) or Similar) from Hertz? I was trying to book one on a Saturday or Sunday (single day reservation) near the end of July/beginning of August, and at both LGA and JFK they always show up as sold-out... so I'm wondering if these actually exist. I suppose I could call them but I'd like to know if any of you have rented one of these before.

It depends on the dates, if you go out to September you can get one for $150 or so a night.

They are very popular for people to grab for trips to the beach, etc. Load up the family, all the stuff and off you go.

Not available in Charlotte, NC / surrounding

I tried to reserve one of the Super ClubWagons and there are none within 100 miles of Charlotte, NC. Very bummed!

for some reason Hertz usually only offers the vans in the summer months. try Avis, they should have them more available

Note: "or similar" could be the Wagon Queen Family Truckster. YMMV.
