Waive under 25 fee?
 

I need to rent a car at PHL at the end of January for a couple days, less than 2 months before my 25th birthday. I'm using my employer's corporate discount code, but it doesn't seem that allows the fee to be waived as it's still included in the estimate on Hertz's website. What are the chances of getting the fee waived on account of me almost being 25. If not, are there any coupon codes I can use to waive it? I saw some floating around from months ago but they all seem to be expired.

2 options:

1) Hertz Gold Family CDP. It's free, automatically includes the underage fee waiver in it, and you can use it with another coupon code (PC), or RQ DRIVE.

2) Underage Coupon

This comes as a PC, which means you can use the AAA CDP and RQ DRIVE, but no other coupon.

The coupon is listed as expiring on December 31, 2010. Hopefully it will be extended, which it has been, sometimes with a different number, for a while.

If you or your parents are USAA members or you qualify for membership without your parents (you served in the military), join USAA and the underage fee is waived with their CDP. You can still attach a PC to it as well.

Plug in PC 144314 and it should go away. They seem to forget to actually apply the thing about half the time but the guy at the return lane can generally fix it on the handheld tool they have.

The Underage Coupon is listed as expiring December 31, 2010, so the computer reservation system will come back saying invalid coupon code for a reservation in January 2011. Hopefully it will be extended again, but we probably won't know for sure until the end of December. It could be extended, but with a new number, like last year. If it's not, sign up for Gold Family.

I did the Gold Family thing, which was supposed to be free, and now there's a $60 charge on my AmEx for it? What's up with that?
