Zip Lining in Kauai
We will be staying at the Grand Hyatt Kauai and looking for recommendations on Zip Lining. Anything close to the Hyatt, any discounts, best company to go with?
Thanks BBBB |
We took the Safari trip with Outfitters Kauai which included some ziplining. We really enjoyed it and thought it was a well run operation. We interacted a little with a group doing a zip line only tour and they seemed to be pretty happy also.
Their office and pickup location is about two miles from the Hyatt. |
Sorry to piggyback on this thread but we're returning to Kauai in December, staying at Hyatt for part of trip and probably in Princeville area. Think it's time to do the zipline activity (4th trip to Kauai). How does this company compare to the offering at Princeville Ranch. Will definitely do one of them next December.

Even though it's a bit of a trek from the Hyatt, I highly recommend Princeville Ranch. Their zips are the longest (and I think, highest) and varied of the three companies (that I know of) providing ziplining on the island. They don't simply go back and forth over the same valley and/or trees. The OP and others might want to do a search here as Kauai ziplining has been discussed in other threads.

I've only ziplined once in Kaua'i so I don't have anything to compare it to...but we were very happy with our experience with Backcountry Adventures.

Is there any weight limit for the zip-lining tours. I am a heavyweight (260+ lb) and remember paying extra for a helicoptor tour in Kauai.

We're definitely going to do Princeville Ranch on our next trip in December. Luckily we're planning on staying in Princeville area for a week or so before finishing up out holiday at the Hyatt.
Thanks for the help. Carolyn |
Princeville Ranch has the best and longest 1200' "King Kong" zipline. Open & spectacular at any age! They have shortened the walk between zip runs..about 2 1/2 hrs total time without the swim.
Don't miss this elegant adventure! |
Did the Princeville Ranch Zip N' Dip and it was a great experience. I would highly recommend it

Alternatively, you can do all the same zips, with an earlier start in the day and for less money, in cooler temps, be done by lunchtime and go somewhere good for lunch. |
Princeville Ranch Adventures is da bomb!
Yep, if you're gonna zipline on Kauai Princeville Ranch is the way to go… part of this isn't really the company, it's just that the north shore is by far the most beautiful part of Kauai and they have this jamongous private ranch for the ziplines.
On the other hand the folks at Princeville Ranch adventures are just great -- fun, considerate of us older folks, knowledgeable. Overall just a wonderful experience. You can check 'em out at: adventureskauai.com I think you can even book online now. |
When we were in Kauai in February the Hyatt GC people were very specific in recommending one particular vendor who they said:
1. Took up the slack in the lines better, and 2. Had a two-hour option, in case you didn't want to spend half a day. Didn't get to it ourselves and realize I'm hardly helping since I can't remember the name, but you could call the GC and ask what it is. They had literature out for them in the club, and didn't seem to think all operators were created equal. |
