My experience over last 10yrs

They are OK for a bed and a wash between flights and/or cruise ship.

However the advertised shuttle is there but not reliable (late night or early mornings) and might be FULLY BOOKED at the time that you need or your booking missing.

My browser must be getting different results than yours, but my results confirm my memory of incidents over 40+ years...

You are arriving very late and traffic toward Waikiki should be light. It normally takes about 20-30 minutes during the day and in traffic. At that hour, you should sail right thru and get to your hotel in 15 minutes.

True, but you're looking at an $80+RT in a taxi. I reserve with Charley's and save a few bucks but even I once just stayed at an airport hotel when I had a late arrival and AM departure.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a hotel that can be booked on IHG points? Have a 16 hr. layover at HNL before the UA Island Hopper.

The only current IHG property (there's a HIX coming in Waikiki after the first of the year) is the Holiday Inn in Wakiki.

https://www.ihg.com/holidayinnresort...or/hoteldetail

TripAdvisor reviews are better than they were a few years ago:
https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...hu_Hawaii.html

But it's 40K points per night.

Thanks! I saw the HIX and thought it might look OK, but didn't see any award nights available yet. I don't particularly want to blow 40K points on the HI... Hopefully award availability will improve in the coming months

I've got 24 hours in HNL in December coming up.

I'm hoping the sun stays shining so would want a pool, but where would the 'experienced' recommend staying?

Thanks in advance!

Airport Hotels with 24hr shuttle

Are there any hotels near HNL that provide 24hr shuttle service?

it would be helpful to know your budget. Also, what are your interests for sightseeing?

Thanks!

I ended up at The Laylow and burnt a load of Marriott points.

Really nice hotel, well located, inexpensive parking, and a 5min walk to the beach.

Only annoyance, is that the pool only has direct sunshine from about 11-4pm.

Warning to the potential customers of these establishments. In addition to the traditional hotel review sites, try looking at crime mapping sites.
