Depends on where you are staying - if you are in Makena/Wailea, the Ma`alaea Harbor is a little closer than driving all the way out to Lahaina. Otherwise, they are all pretty good. I've always been a fan of the Finest Kind, only because she's a Merritt '37 and just a beauty. Carol Ann's a Bertram 33, like the ones I grew up on. If it's calm enough, I hope they take you to the back (north) side of Moloka`i - even if the fish aren't biting, the scenery will leave you in awe.
The biggest marlin I have personally hooked into was in the triangle between Lana`i, West Maui, and Kaho`olawe. We fought her for about three hours, only to break the leader (400# test) at the transom. I'd say she was over 300 lbs., easy.
Just avoid any boats with a skipper wearing khakis and a blue polo shirt and a first mate wearing dungarees, a red rugby shirt, and a white bucket hat... :D
