1st timer needs lodging by Friday, 5 Aug
I just found out today (7/29) that I have to be in HNL for work on 8 - 12 Aug. Quick check with Hilton products in HNL found them booked so no points this trip. :(
Since this is my first trip to the islands and I will already be on travel in Seattle the week prior I plan to fly on the 5th to HNL arriving 11:35 am.. Here is where I am flexible. With miles on UN, CON, NW and AA I figure, (perhaps naively), I can get inter-island tickets free. So nites of 5th and 6th I can spend on any island. Nites of 7th - 12th I need to be in/near Waikiki. I found a place for 9th-12th but could cancel if I find a place available 7th -12th. Any suggestions for 5th, 6th and 7th ,8th?? |
Have you tried hotwire, sidstep and other major booking sites to see if you can find something at Wikiki?

I just checked on Orbitz and the Hilton Hawaiian Village has room for all the nights that you have requested. I would suggest calling them.

If I were you, I'd spend all nights on O'ahu and not worry about having to fly interisland for only a couple of days, especially since its your first visit.
Since HHonors points are at issue here, even booking through Expedia/Orbitz/Travelocity would net you no HHonors points, so have you considered going with just the cheapest possible? By the way, the Hilton Grand Vacations Club® at Hilton Hawaiian Village® is running at $469/night, that might be an option if you can expense that. If not, I'd venture out and try a different brand. Another option would be to fly up to Kona and visit the Hilton Waikoloa Village. You wouldn't get to see much of the island, but at least you'd be spending time at a Hilton. Welcome to Flyertalk! |
