"the bus" to walmart
hi all,
I'm going to be staying at the Hawaiiana Hotel in Waikiki for a week in May and wanted to pick up some beach towels etc at Walmart. Is it easy to get at the store using "the bus"?? I was hoping to avoid renting a car for such a short time. |
You can catch any of the buses from these lines from Waikiki to and from Ala Moana Center, about 3-5 miles ewa (toward the airport) from Waikiki.
8 Ala Moana Center 19 Airport-Hickam 20 Airport-Pearlridge There are numerous stores in the mall which you can also buy beach towels (as well as the ABC Stores that are EVERYWHERE in Waikiki). But, if you have your heart set on it, from the mall, head Mauka (towards the mountains) throught the mall and parking lot (past the tower with the round structure with windows on the top) to Ke`eamoku St. and walk two more blocks to the new WalMart/Sam's Club. |
For just another option, you could also take the Ala Moana shuttle, which would also get you close to WalMart.
ALA MOANA SHOPPING TROLLEY Provides convenient transportation between the Center and eight locations in Waikiki. Runs 7 days a week, every 15 minutes. Look for the Pink Line trolleys throughout Waikiki. Pickup at Ala Moana Center is at the Ala Moana Boulevard trolley depot. Cost is $2.00 each way. Pay fare on trolley. Please pay fare with exact change on trolley. Shuttle Hours: Monday - Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. |
I believe the free Hilo Hatties' shuttle also drops off/picks up at Ala Moana.
