There's a WalMart on: 3-3300 Kuhio Hwy pretty close to the Hotel...

also, you'll find the closest Long's at the Kukui Grove Shopping Center.

It is a beautiful property on a beautiful beach very close to the Lihue airport. The rooms are nice but not large, it was a Westin before Marriott bought it. There are 2 or now 3 decent restaurants (Porto Fino was not yet opened when I was there in January).

Absolutely loved the Marriott Kauai. If you do a search in the Marriott forum there is a thread on it which can give you more details. Stayed there on two visits last fall and will be there again in a few weeks. The only reason for not staying there both nights on this trip is that I can get a late late late checkout at the Sheraton for my redeye. Enjoy!

I also stayed on a award stay in December and it was a beautiful property 'centrally' located so to speak. Also reasonable food services prices IMO. Granted as a MR PLT I was upgraded to a 2 room corner suite. Not a week goes by that I don't think of that hotel. Enjoy your stay (and get a car).
