Regency Poipu Kai Condos
We are considering this property for a 5 night stay. Lots of people going so we need a 5 bedroom unit. We really want central air conditioning, so our options seem quite limited. If anyone has stayed here, I would appreciate your thoughts. If anyone has any other leads for places at Poipu that have central air conditioning, I would also appreciate that. Thanks.

You won't find many vacation rentals with air conditioning. Most homes don't have it here, as we normally have tradewinds and nightime temps around 72 - 74 and daytime temps between 82 - 85, and maybe 88 when it gets really hot.
It does feel hot here when the tradewinds stop blowing, but fortunately that doesn't happen very often.

Princeville Kauai Condos?
I need a condo in Kauai for a week in January. Does anyone have an opinion of this property?
http://remaxkauai.com/HBV30/
Does anyone have a 2-3BR condo anywhere in the islands that they would let me use for a week (mid-late January 2003) in exchange for air travel? What could I get for a First Class ticket to the mainland?

Good points -
Princeville is one of the most beautiful spots in Hawaii. You can take advantage of all the amenities at the Princeville hotel. Hiking and golf nearby. Very quiet as it is quite isolated.
Not so good points -
Relatively small and rocky beach. Nice beaches nearby but you have to drive to them. It rains much more on the north side of the island. Quite isolated - you pretty much have to drive to anything else you want to do, though not more than an hour to even the most distant location (Waimea canyon).
It's a matter of personal taste. I love Princeville but I do get a little tired of the rain. The beach at Poipu (south side) is much nicer for swimming and snorkeling, and there are some very nice condos at Poipu right on or a very short walk from the beach. But the scenery at Poipu is definitely not nearly as spectacular as Princeville. And if you golf, Poipu is not nearly as convenient for golfing.

From the outside, I always think that those units look nice, plus they are right next to the hotel, which is a plus, IMO, because anytime you feel the need for full-service, you can walk over to the hotel.

Maui condo
We are staying at the Outrigger Royal Kahana Resort near Lahaina. I am just wondering if anyone has any comments regarding this resort? We have never been to Maui and just were wondering if this place is decent or not. Thanks.

I have no feedback on your hotel, but did want to Welcome you to Flyertalk
Edited to add: did you try a search for your property? The search function is located in the upper right hand corner. By punching in the keyword “Kahana” I found these two threads.

Studios/condos on Kauai
Looking for studios/condos on Kauai.
Have explored Southern Kauai, would prefer something on the North Shore, East Shore would be ok.
any experiences or links?

My wife and I are visiting Kauai end of July. I found a condo at http://www.kauaivacationrentals.com and also looked at http://www.remaxkauai.com. Good luck and enjoy . . . we plan to.

We used http://www.oceanfrontrealty.com/ to rent a condo in Princeville last summer. We were happy with both the condo and oceanfront realty.

I rented a 2000 sq ft house last year for less than $150 a night. Found it on VRBO.com.
I have also found places to rent in other cities all over the US also.
Good Luck!

another Kauai condo question
Since we're going in November (?rainy), I think we should stay on the south (or even west, if there's anything out there) shore. Any recommendations for condos in Poipu or beyond? We will be 2 couples, no kids, no golfers (we are hikers and snorkellers), and would like oceanfront property.
Thanks!
Thanks!
