HNL Arrival Processing Time?
 

Hi all - we are on a pretty tight schedule the day we land. We land at 2pm and because our carrier does not take part in the pre-screening process, we’d need to go through the check at HNL. Wondering how long it has taken folks to go through the screening for those who’ve recently landed?

we need to run to the car rental place after this to pick up our car and drive straight to our next activity, so I’m trying to prepare myself with a game plan. The stories about the car rental situation also has me a bit worried, so would love to also hear about anyone’s recent experiences.

I just went through this past Sunday, and with heavier passenger loads, and not much more staff working:

I would give yourself 45-60 minutes to be on the safe side, pending how many planes land at the same time. Even as an exempt traveler, I've had to wait 40 minutes for a relatively short line about 20 people deep that included connecting passengers to other island, and with 4-5 agents working to process the travelers.. On the non-exempt line, there was 2 planes people full, but it does move faster.
