Guess Doug is a little too tightly wound.

Anyway, here's where the Doug was estimated to be going two hours ago - north of both Oahu and Kauai:

Somewhere under that is Oahu.

One hour later (800 PM HST/0600Z), here's NHC/CPHC's latest track:

So Doug's somewhere north of HNL (was 65 miles NE @ 5 PM HST) and has an eye again:

And, JTWC's path from 2 hours ago:

So, from our HI FT correspondents, mostly wet, no wind so far.

I'm happy to read reports (both in news media and informal posts) that all of the major islands avoided a direct hit and that the northerly track kept the most dangerous NE section of the storm away. Hopefully, the impacts will be limited to minor flooding and intermittent loss of power, along with an abundance of cooked rice and Spam.

Thankfully, Douglas adhered to proper social distancing guidelines and kept at least 6 feet from the islands!

And since Doug did not officially "visit", no harm, no foul on being subject to 14 day quarantining...

Hope there was sufficient drinking and surviving!

I didn’t bother taking any, it was about as boring as it gets.

Same as usual. This was a close call but nothing exciting. Wish we had a little more rain, we need it.

There's some nice pictures here, including an epic double rainbow over Honolulu.

I was planning on taking the boards of my windows this morning, so while drinking my coffee, and later having breakfast, I asked Google "what is the humidity?

Responses:

During Coffee: 93%

During Breakfast: 90%

About to go out for the boards: 88%

Right Now: 66%, and it is really gusty on my hillside, more so than yesterday. Google said that it is 19 mph, but likely much more than that as it swoops down my hill.
