Connection time in HNL - separate bookings

Connection time in HNL - separate bookings
I looked at the wiki but it still refers to being able to interline baggage between airlines which I understand went away some time ago.
Flying HA OGG-HNL, then Delta to LAX, two bookings. One option gives us 1:28 in HNL, we will need to deplane, pick up checked bags, bring to Delta and check again. We have Sky Priority and TSA pre-check, if that matters. Next earlier gives us another 30 minutes... will we need it? (about $100 more, but would ensure we make it)
