Kauai: Best shop for local Hawaiian art?

I will be spending a week on Kauai this Memorial Day, and I love shopping for products by local artists wherever I visit. What is the best shop to visit to pick up local crafts such as jewelry, koa wood objects, housewares, quilted objects, and such?

Thanks for your help!

If you have the time, consider going to one or more of Kauai's farmer's markets. There is no way to guarantee who will be there with what products, but I found some nice crafts at the Waipa farmer's market on my last trip.

We have purchased several things at Halele'a Gallery in Kukuilula Village, including a couple Jamie Allens. There are also several other shops at Kukuiula.

We also have a Michelle Dick which we found at the
Friday night Hanapepe Art Walk from 6-9 p.m. (which I would recommend). She is sold at Halele'a Gallery too.

Yellowfish Trading in Hanalei also has some interesting stuff. We bought a Steven Neill surfboard sign there several years ago.

I see this thread is quite old but since no one else mentioned Hanapepe I can't help myself! If anyone stumbles upon this thread and hasn't yet checked you Hanapepe on the island of Kauai I highly suggest it. There are several local giftshops specializing in everything from spices to carved wood. The creative diversity found in that little town is amazing. Definitely worth a stop! I believe they also have a weekly art night. Be sure to look it up!

Friday night is Art Night, 5-9 pm. There are several little galleries along the street.
