Consolidated "Pre-Check at Hawaii Airports" thread

Did OGG get Pre-check? The following was printed on my HA boarding pass for tonight "You may use a "TSA Precheck" line at security checkpoints (where available)"

Looks like Hawaiian will be participating in Precheck, but I can't find anything on the TSA website or on Hawaiian's website.

That OGG might have Pre-check is a laugh. OGG does not even have a gold lane for expedited service.

But they make up for it by being extra slow in the regular lines.

Chatted with a TSA person who said it was being discussed now that the renovation by the checkpoint is complete and there is room. Nothing changed as of last night though.

Will keep hoping as those lines can be brutal--know of locals who have missed flights when they happened to be there when the bulk of the mainland/international flights are scheduled.

Is there anyway of registering with HA for Pre-Check? I could not find anything on the HA website. In contrast, UA has a page for registration. Mahalo!

Believe this is the only way to get Precheck as of now. My flight tomorrow qualified for Precheck tomorrow, and I had my TT number in my profile. I guess we have to use the UA/DL checkpoint at HNL, and there's no Precheck on the neighbor islands yet.

FWIW, in addition to the "You may use Precheck" logo on my BP, I also had a small Precheck logo on my Passbook BP.

TSA Pre out of OGG?

If anyone discovers a HA pre-check line open, please post. Mahalo!

Haven't seen Precheck at ITO yet either.

ITO did have a black-diamond "expert traveler" lane for a while, but I think it might be gone now. They probably realized that a good portion of the the time, the one agent checking ID's has nothing to do.

From a story on June 18:

Schatz urges TSA PreCheck for interisland flights

http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/2...island-flights

Our checkpoints can barely handle mobile BPs

Meanwhile, there's no reason they couldn't at least set up a first class/elite line at OGG with the larger security area they have now.

Agree. I wonder what the hang-up is: TSA, airport administration, or the airlines (who pay for the elite line)?

with the setup at OGG, it would likely be a common elite line, not specific to a single airline.

The elite lines at HNL airport aren't really specific to a single airline either.
