From what I understand... no. A core fleet of 6 767s will remain until 2020, so it remains to be seen what will happen with those planes. As mentioned iPad mini's are available for purchase and are complimentary in F or Business class.

As a result they will be retrofitting the planes with something, to return the privacy to F class. I would imagine the bulkhead that was removed will not be returning, but something of a compromise.
Maybe a curtain?

Per TSA directives proper curtains have been removed, being replaced by those mesh ones currently onboard. The real issue with the new 330 configuration is what sits behind row 3 in F class, that separates F from Y. I'm not sure a curtain would suffice.

Not the ones I was on, but they rotate planes

Ughhh!

Were any of those flights perchance JFK/HNL?

All 330s will be reconfigured to eliminate the cabin divider in order to facilitate the "Extra comfort" cabin. As I said in another post, the company seems to be aware of the negative reviews and will be creating a solution to be implemented later in the year.

On a LAS-HNL flight on a 330-200 in a couple of weeks, they are selling both First Class tickets and Coach tickets with F seat availability at F2 J2 P2 C1 A0 and Y seat availability at Y7 W7 X7 Q7 V7 B7 S5 N3 M1 I0 H0 G0 K0 L0 Z0 O0. However the seat map on EF shows all the F seats are assigned and only one Y seat unassigned.

Does HA routinely block seats in F and Y for pre-assigned seating? Will there be seat assignment at the airport? The F2 and Y7 seems to show they are still selling F and Y tickets, but I am curious if this is an over-sold situation...

I have never flown HA before but I have never seen F seats fully assigned and the airline still selling F tickets on a mainland-based legacy carrier.

HA routinely blocks F seats in the 332 from the moment they get placed into inventory 331 days out. Always the same seats too, like 2/3 C&G, 3B I think. If I make a res and then call and ask for one of those blocked seats they tell me it is actually "occupied", not blocked, and this at 331 days. Uh, sorry, but I don't believe that. Not sure who they are blocking them for or how to get one, perhaps you need HA elite status or full-fare paying F?

FWIW, Mrs Inlanikai and I prefer 1C&G. Lot's of leg room and easy access to the aisle for both of us.

Thanks for sharing this info. I will keep the 1C&G seats in mind for the easy aisle access and extra leg room.

N373HA Delivery

N373HA (#18) is enroute from Toulouse to Seattle today (6/17) as HAL 9975. This delivery seems to be coordinated to add another unit to the inventory in conjunction with the scheduled upgrade of A330 service OAK/HNL to begin soon. (This weekend?)

The photo caption indicates that 373 is the last HAL A330 to be delivered, which is in conflict to the quoted info. Confirmation as to which is correct?

BTW, HAL has been rotating the 13 A330s needing interior retrofits (educated guess) through Seattle to Everett, WA every 4 days or so. Currently 392 has been in Everett for a couple days. Not sure how many more, if any, are left to retrofit. Would be interesting to see if 373 is delivered with any modification to the latest interior changes to address the "ambience" complaints.

That's incorrect. 373 is #18 and there will be one more delivery in 2014, then 3 more in 2015 to complete the order.

I think there may be 1 more plane to cycle through PAE for the cabin refresh. Because of supply issues, I'm guessing the newest deliveries are all like the other ones until the "fix" can take place.

This is ATS (formerly BFG) at PAE, yes? Or is Boeing doing cabin retrofits on Airbii now?

Are you saying that all but one of these planes have now had the new Extra Comfort seating installed? Not sure I'm reading all of this correctly.....

Evidently the photographer was made aware of the correct information as he's changed the caption.
