Exclamation [SPORADIC SALE] Aloha/go!/Hawaiian $29 Interisland Fare Sale Thread

Moderator's Edit:
Please see the last post.

___________________________________
The Go! website doesn't say anything about it, but while looking for flights this evening, I see a new column of $29. promotional fares...! Looks like this special is good thru Sunday. Roundtrip required. (In typical Hawaiian Website fashion, the Go! site will offer the $29 for a one-way itinerary, and when you select it and continue, the site pretty much crashes - eventually it takes you to a screen, blank except for the Flash (why Flash?) banner at the top that has some navigation - but no error or other message and no ability to purchase what you just selected.)

Fare Code VRGO - rule says
[PENALTY]
CANCELLATIONS ANY TIME TICKET IS NON-REFUNDABLE. CHANGES ANY TIME CHANGES NOT PERMITTED.

[EFF/EXP]
TICKET MUST BE ISSUED BY 23JUL06. 30SEP06 IS THE LAST DATE THAT TRAVEL MAY COMMENCE. ALL TRAVEL AT THIS FARE MUST BE COMPLETED BY 30SEP06.

[FLT APPL]
APPLIES TO YV 1000-1999.

[MISC]
NOTE - FARE REQUIRES ROUND TRIP PURCHASE - OPEN RETURNS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

Do you know what these flights normally cost? I'm going to be there for a week in September, will be at Hilton Hawaiian Village in HNL. Would like to visit another island or 2 for a day.

Go! has extended indefinitely their $39. one-way fare (limited # of seats available at this price) - the $39 fare is not-refundable, but changes can be made for a $20 fee. (The restricted fares range $39-$69 - as more seats get sold, the price goes up in $10 increments.) Their unrestricted fare is $79.

Aloha & Hawaiian no longer match Go! prices - the lowest restricted fare on these airlines is $46. Their price goes up as well as more seats get sold. The unrestricted Y fare one-way on Hawaiian is $424. (and isn't even fully refundable); Aloha's unrestricted Y fare is $444.

I fly Go! because I know if it weren't for Go! the price to fly in Hawaii would be sky high.

Perhaps these fares are signs of desperation?

I searched FT, go!'s website & Google and didn't find anything. go! is not partners with any other airline, correct?

Not quite true. Aloha and Hawaiian's lowest fare is $39, but only to LIH and OGG. To KOA/ITO, their lowest is $46. So if you're flying to KOA/ITO, go! has the cheapest fare (though the most uncomfortable aircraft for the longest interisland segments).

Or a more combative effort to dislodge one of the inter-island airlines? Talk about war...

Most excellent idea. I'm glad we could spot a bargain and pass it on. Might be a busy HA website tomorrow.

I sure hope this will be limited availability and not a system-wide sale regardless of availability, since I just paid $100/person for a interisland tickets to KOA!

Still, good sale!

Alright, it's nearing 1 a.m. (I'm caught in up in a project)... and HA still doesn't have the $29 o/w fares up and running.
