unsure which option to take.
I will need to fly from OGG-HNL-LIH with a stopover on HNL for 1-2 days.
I have the required 5K miles needed for an interIsland flight on AA. And for my fiancee, I plan to give use 10K miles to get her an interisland flight using my CO miles. BUT, for a total of 15K miles, Versus buying the tickets on Hawaiian, which is more cost effective? I am drawing a blank on how to figure this out. Thanks! |
I forgot to add, that same trip, OGG-HNL-LIH would cost 306.40 for both of us.
SO how can I figure out the better cost effective measure? Thanks again, Cheers! |

I am glad to say, the AA and the CO mileage awards WOULD allow a stopover in HNL, only on a routing that would include HNL as the stopover.
So OGG-HNL-LIH is possible on a mileage interisland award. And it would require a total of 15,000 miles (5K on AA and 10K on CO awards) The same ticket, if bought on HA, for the 2 of us, costs $306.40 USD. which option is more "cost effective"? |
When dealing with interisland tickets, if you've got the miles and you're willing to spare them, you might as well use them rather than paying the exorbitant price for the tickets.
