Aloha e-tickets
 

So I had purchased a non-refundable e-ticket on Aloha two months ago for a weekend trip that I had to cancel due to a business trip and It doesn't look like I will have the opportunity to try and reschedule the trip anytime in the near future. Am I stuck eating the $900 or is there any way that I change the name on the ticket for a friend to fly out instead?

I'm sure your stuck as to having the name on the ticket changed. Aloha in all probability will not do this, neither would HA, UA or anybody else.

However, you say the ticket is non-refundable, which doesn't necessarily mean it's not changable. My guess is you'll be allowed to change the dates of travel for a fee (not sure about AQ, but the majors charge $150 these days).

Find some other dates you can go and give AQ a call. A positive attitude might even result in you're being allowed to make a change without a fee.

I don't know what AQ's rules are, but HA has a sliding change fee depending on whether the original fare bucket (I'm assuming your purchased lowest fare) is still available. Cheapest on HA is $100 change fee each way.
