Consolidated "Status Match on HA?" thread

Has anyone matched AA or any other status on HA?

There are ways to comp. status on HA. You should call HA (HA Miles center) and ask for a status comp by telling them your status on AA. They'll have you fax your mileage statement and card in.

Which carrier did you have status on and what level was it? You might try again, calling the HA Miles service desk. HA's agents have a reputation, sometimes incorrectly labeled and sometimes true, for being ill-informed.

It didn't matter which carrier. I was told no to whether they comp status from another airline. I never got the chance to tell her which airlines I had elite status. She told me that I must fly their airline to get elite status. This occurred many moons ago. Things may have changed since then.

Is it really true HA gives status matches? I may want to switch my business to HA if this is true.

You may want to ask for the marketing department of Hawaiian (not a regular phone rep CSR). This would put you in with the people you know will care about where your money is spent. Tell them why a status comp would be valuable to you and what your future travel plans on HA look like.

Pōmaika`i (Good luck)!

Does HA status match with AA?

Just curious if my AA plat will mean anything with HA?

Unfortunately, not; according to the Hawaiian Miles Service Center: 1-877-426-4537

A few members of this forum (don't want to out anyone) indeed have gotten status matches with HA. So maybe you got an ill informed agent? Or perhaps policy has since changed?

I can only relate my experiences, and those of my contacts at HA! It was my pleasure to call the Pualani Platinum phone number, and inquire on OP's behalf.

If anyone knows of any current HA status matching policies, please let us know!

I'm not aware of any status matching presently by HA, and I've been Pualani Platinum for 4 years; certainly not "forever"; but long enough to be pretty well acquainted with HA elite policies.

Anyone?

It's not recent at all, but in the summer of 2004 I was matched to HA Plat for the remainder of the calendar year and Mrs. cblaisd to Gold for the same amount of time based on our (then) UA Premier Exec and Premier statuses.

I suspect that had something to do with your moving to Hawai'i and "promising to become a HA regular" or something like that, yes/no?
