Hawaiian Air Flights Featuring Use of Hawaiian Language by Crew

Just saw this post on Facebook from one of our local politicians:

This morning I flew from Hilo to Honolulu and when I boarded the flight the Hilo agent [name redacted] said "hey, todays [sic] flight is the ʻōlelo flight"!

When I boarded I was excited to see that all the flight attendants were fluent ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi speakers and the entire flight was conducted in ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi, announcements, service, everything..they even got the pailaka (pilots) to make their pre-takeoff announcement in ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi. I found out this is a new push by Hawaiian Airlines to use more ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi on its flights and encourage the increased use of ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi with its employees and passengers.
ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi is the Hawaiian language. I suspect that if the pre-flight safety briefing was done in ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi, it was followed by English.

In any case, if you are travelling on Hawaiian Air, you might hear a little more ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi on your flight...
