Miles Expiring

I have some miles that will expire soon. I believe that I can transfer them to my wife's account at no charge. If I do this does the clock reset and then my wife has 18 months to use them or have other activity in the account?? Can I transfer 1,000 miles to her and then wait a few days and transfer them back to me?? Does that reset the clock?

Thanks

Hawaiian Airlines credit card holders can receive miles from others at no cost. Receiving miles is an activity that keeps the account active.

I don't know the answer to your question. But I run into this problem since the demise of the browser tool. So I use the online shopping portal to buy something small every 8-12 months, that extends it.

That sounds more like fraud than resetting the clock.
