All I can say is, it's about time! It seems like they are rightly going to be placing the A330s on international routes, which will allow them to finally be able to advertise a premium international product that's competitive with the majors.

Hopefully these will be true lie-flats (180), and not angle-flats.
Edit to add that I just saw news report that the seat extends to 72 inches long. If you are less than 6'0" that should be enough...

Increase in air fare to recoup the investment in the lie-flat seat?
Also HA is adding 28 more Extra Comfort seats for a total of 68.
Configuration will be 18/68/192.

So First class between door 1 and 2?
And 4 rows of Extra Comfort in both Coach cabins?

I did read in one of the articles covering the product that Dunkerley was quoted as saying there is flexibility built into the design to ADD more to the 18 seat count should demand warrant. This leads me to believe they could easily add one more row and take the seat count up to 24 and utilize the whole section between doors 1 and 2.

Please tell me this will be on SYD - HNL. That will be a serious gamechanger with no airline flying that route with lieflats (and its an overnight flight in one direction)

^ gamechanger. Nice to see HA taking pride and improving their hard product against most other carriers putting their old horses out to the Hawaii pasture.
