I see HA 51 from JFK to HNL diverted to Portland ( PDX ) today.

They are back in the air now enroute to HNL.

Maybe they stopped for fuel ?

I would expect your flight to be cancelled.
I don't really understand the negative speculation, especially in this case.

HA 17 scheduled to arrive 05:00 HST and certainly has a shot at getting there if you look at the latest CPHC products.

But keep polishing that crystal ball.....

Why was this nonstop (JFK - HNL) diverted to PDX.

I checked a couple of flight tracking sites, but didn't find the reason.

Maybe they wanted a little more fuel for any headwinds?
