Only two flights were canceled at Hawaiian the entire day (HNL-OGG-HNL). The interisland operation ran a little more tardy then normal and the west coast/international operation ran pretty much as a normal day. Kudos to the folks at HAL for doing a good job running a safe operation and still getting people to where they needed to be.

"...Hawaiian had 35 mainland flights, 16 international routes and 178 interisland flights scheduled Monday for a total of 229, and all went off as scheduled except for one Hono.lulu-Maui round trip. That evening flight was in the air for 10 to 15 minutes of the scheduled 35-minute flight when it returned to Hono.lulu because the storm at that time hit its peak over Maui. All the passengers were put on another scheduled Hono.lulu-Maui flight less than an hour later..."
