Hawaiian Airlines Miles Maximizer - Worth it?

So I purchased 2 coach tickets on HA using the 25% off RT from the mainland deal I got with one of my HA cards. I never see anyone talking about the miles maximizer around here.

They are offering a triple miles bonus for $414 (or right around that) for 2 passengers. That's just over .01 per mile. Is there a cheaper way to buy HA miles than that?

Since I didn't actually pay for these seats (used my miles to buy 2 other people tickets, had them pay using my 25% coupon so I would get the miles) I would net 60k miles for $414 with this deal. Thats over 1.5 RT tickets!

I don't think there's a cheaper way to buy them, but if they are worth it or not depends on how you value an HA mile. I think they are worth something less than 1 cent each. It's the "something" part that is subjective. But if you think you can get more than 1 cent per mile value out of them, then, sure, go for it.

I think I can redeem them for around 2 cents a piece. JFK-HNL-OGG. I really hate the 5am layover in LA/SF etc.
