Cool San Francisco Gayla III: 2/5-2/7/10 - The spectacular threesome

Mark your calendars for San Francisco Gayla III, which will be held Friday 2/5/10 to 2/7/10 on Super Bowl weekend! That is, assuming you didn't drink too much* beer in Munich!

Check out the fun from the last two, and get ready to add a third!

San Francisco Gayla I

San Francisco Gayla II

* - is that ever possible?

2010 SF Gayla Official Schedule

Friday 5 February 2010

7:00pm - 11:00pm Welcome Reception
blush! Wine Bar at 476 Castro Street - $15-25/person cash - Yelp!

The only returning venue this year with a twist... a name change, larger wine list, and a new menu! Two options: two alcohol or appetizer tickets ($25) or four non-alcoholic drink tickets ($15) which covers the initial space/service/tax. If you'd like to select from the menu beyond the house selections, you may open a tab with the bartenders or purchase more tickets.
~11:00pm - 2:00am Castro bar cruise
Depends on the size of the group, but Trigger and the Cafe are what's hot right now (although the latter seems to draw more commuters). I might be convinced to go to Badlands.

Saturday 6 February 2010

11:30pm - 1:30pm bigguyinpasadena hosts Dim Sum
City View Restaurant - 662 Commercial St (between Kearny & Montgomery) - Yelp!

Please make sure bigguyinpasadena knows you plan to attend
6:30pm - 8:30pm Dinner
Home at 2100 Market - $40/person cash - Yelp!

A new venue for this year, it's located right at the MUNI Church metro station across the street from Safeway. They have a large covered heated back patio which will accommodate up to 50 with a no-host bartender (run your own tab). The restaurant recommends we arrive early and enjoy happy hour starting at 5pm! Please bring cash which covers food, service, and tax.

Fixed menu which includes (chose an entree after salad):

Starter/Salad - Baby Mixed Greens, radish, dried cranberries, feta cheese, champagne vinaigrette dressing
Choice of single entree below
Butternut Squash Ravioli - brown butter, sage, pecorino cheese
Fulton Valley Chicken - french green beans, fingerling potatoes, caramelized onions
Home's Pot Roast - braised chuck roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, horseradish cream
Chicken Pot Pie - braised chicken, sweet peas, carrots, celery, onion, homemade pastry crust
There will be a fish option, market depending
8:30pm - 10:00pm Post Dinner Cocktails
Blackbird - 2124 Market St - Yelp!
10:00pm - 2:00am - Castro bar cruise
Social Club at The Lookout then Trigger

Sunday 7 February 2010

11:00am - 1:00pm Pre-Super Bowl Brunch
Barracuda Japanese Restaurant at 2251 Market Street - Yelp!

What? Don't eat sushi? That's fine! Barracuda has a wonderful menu that includes a diverse menu of brunch items beyond bento boxes and raw fish. Oh, yeah, and bottomless mimosas!
1:05pm - end of game Super Bowl or something - Wireless' apartment in the Castro or The Lookout if the group is too big
Rumor has it missydarlin's famous mojitos and foady's lychee martinis will be served in large volumes. Donations of light rum or vodka accepted!
7:00pm - midnight Get out of my apartment and let's go to a T-Dance (or Trigger/Badlands/whatever)
Palace at the Cafe - 2369 Market

DJ Joe Gauthreaux will be in town trying to make the Cafe into a proper T-Dance venue... it hasn't happened yet, still feels like a bar but what the heck. They serve alcohol and they're trying hard!

btw, I'm just putting this out early so some people *cough*SeeYa*cough* don't schedule trips to Hawaii on the same weekend...

I'm not going to cheerlead this for months... hehe

Marked as tentative in my calendar for now - I can better commit as it approaches. I've never been to San Francisco and I'd love to come down there, meet everyone and experience the city.

Consider me there. It's on my Calendar.
What trouble will happen that it falls on rapp81's birthday weekend this year?

I'm in. Duh. Like it is an effort. As I live mere blocks from Wireless. See you all then.
