Better rain in Chicago instead of snow in Denver.

So ... how was it?

How was your New Years Eve?

Mine was swell; went to a house party in Greensboro, as promised. Had some drama at 12:15 when someone stole the bottle of champagne my date had set down on a patio table. Note to would-be champagne thiefs: I will know it was you the second I hear that cork pop! We recovered the full bottle, admonished them, and then had a grand time photographing people swigging from the bottle.

And I know y'all had some grand destinations. Reports?

How was New Orleans? We had to cancel and had a great time with friends at home. I do really regretted not being able to get to the French Quarter for New Years Eve though.

Grand for me is someplace like Sydney, New York or Rio :) and I've always preferred somewhere smaller like New Orleans.

Half the crowd was already partying hard on Bourbon St early evening. We gambled at the casino for a few hours, made our way to the square for the countdown and the fireworks, returned to Oz for more fun until late, then walked safely home to the apt.

I ended up seeing Kylie at Wembley... A great show from an entertainer who really needs to break through in the states. I'll take her over Madge anyday :)

Interestingly, I spent New Years Eve in the company of Scott Kirby, President of US Airways. I was a last minute fill-in for some people who couldn't attend a fund-raiser type event at a local resort here in Phoenix. Turns out, I was seated at the US Airways sponsored table! Quite a treat for someone who's a US mileage junkie like me to be able to chat with the President of the company.

Ok, so I know this wasn't gay-specific but thought it might be of travel-related interest ;)
