Kenya reaffirms ban on LGBT persons
https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/24/healt...ntl/index.html
Kenya's high court reaffirmed the criminalization of Gay persons. Its not a 'dormant' ban either, as targeted violence, police indifference, and outright hostility are considered rife in the country.
BTW, Tanzania is even worse. They openly arrest tourists for the crime of sharing a room together.

In better news, the situation in Botswana and Namibia have improved and Angola and Mozambique just legalized LGBT persons.

"This year, South Africa, Namibia and Botswana are the only African countries participating out of the 24 countries from Europe, Asia, North America, South and Central America and Oceania. The three African countries will be represented by South Africa’s Chris Emmanuel, Botswana’s Oratile Victor Phofhedi and Namibia’s Rivelino Ronald Reinecke."

Problem countries in the Southern and SE Africa
Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabawe, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Burundi....All have governments that openly promote extreme levels of abuse to LGBT persons combined with criminalization. Tanzania openly arrests Gay tourists. Swaziland is illegal too and unless you have a real reason to go, is best avoided at this time. Rwanda is problematic, but technically legal.
The Seychelles did recently decriminalize being LGBT, but keeps a sodomy ban for both Gay and straight persons, so not sure what that means. Either way, the whatever ban the Seychelles has is dormant. Mauritius still has a dormant ban.
