Usually (cover charge) parties of varying degrees at bars and what not. Typically see people skiing in pink tutus, drag or stuff like that.
Wish it were in Tahoe as I have a house and season pass for Heavenly/Kirkwood/North Star and don't really want to go to Mammoth.

It's a fun social weekend, which I've gone to since 2011. Have met lots of cool friends there and also lots of people come up as well since others are coming up to ski/snowboard. The parties themselves are not the reason to go but I'm up in Mammoth a lot (since I"ve got a place there). Plus another 6 feet of snow this week to add to all the awesome powder from last week! Been fantastic!!

Mammoth Gay Ski Week
March 13-17 2019

I might consider starting an alternative event as a fundraiser too that would be more chill and less thump thump thump

So the alternative event is happening! (lots of ski fun word play and so much snow up here!!)

After you Climax, bring your Huevos Grandes to the Mammoth Brewery Saturday March 16 starting at 4 pm for an underground party benefitting UCLA LGBTQ health programs, featuring DJ Henry Self (full frontal disco), libations and nosh from the Brewery & the Eatery

Oops missed your post! Did you have fun? Thoughts about the Elevation events? I think we want to do the alternative event again but looking for ideas....

I was at the Fri and Sat "official" apre skis.
Ordering a drink or a beer was a pain, i.e. waiting forever.
Bars were mobbed and bartenders could hardly keep up with the demand (both days).
Very disappointing for an event that has been around for so many years. They should know better.
What do they do with the $50 entry fee? Seems it's all pure profit.

Yeah, all the money goes directly to the promotor, Tom Whitman. I do give him credit that the week is fun and he started it many years ago now. Got me there the first time.

Your complaints are basically the same thing my friends have been complaining about. Others also included that lots of non-ski/riders who are there to party and it's hard to hear/talk to people because it's so loud. So what would you like to see happen? Would you want a package of events too? How much advance notice? Help us make it better and to benefit groups helping improve the world more directly.
