I just can't believe what the PSP resorts are charging for rates now. Considering a short stay in Palm Springs in February, which is high season, but right now everything looks pretty much unaffordable. Guess I will have to look at chain properties and burn some points.

And to complete the trio, did a walkthrough of the Twin Palms, which shares ownership with the Santiago and Descanso. It's in south Palm Springs and is cleanly MCM--nicely reappointed. The previous facility was built as a hotel, then was converted to apartment units, and is now back to a hotel. They replaced the pool (so there is now fencing around it; but it is cleverly designed with clear glass panels so it doesn't block views). The owners have a good-better-best positioning of the 3 resorts (Santiago-Descanso-Twin Palms). Pricing seems a $50-$75 upcharge from one to the next. Seems very quiet, with beautiful views from the rooms/pool. Allows a good differentiation, too between the different areas in which the resorts are (Santiago in the Tahquitz River neighborhood south of Riverside; Descanso uptown, Twin Palms south of the curve).
