TURKEY
Haven't been able to find any recent updates on gay (night)life in Turkey.
The closest I found is Istanbul hotels- http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/glbt-...ul-update.html. The other threads are a couple of years old, and most places there appear closed.
Let's get an update going:
- Istanbul
- Izmir
- Ankara
Any hot bars, clubs, baths, cruising.
Thanks in advance.

Istanbul
With some additional research online, I found Aquarius Sauna as the only "hamam" of the kind in Istanbul. www.aquariussauna.com. But no reviews so far.

It seems to be an "escort" sauna.
I have been in Istanbul and the least interesting thing about it was the gay life. I have met some hot turks in London, Germany, etc, but it seems they are not that "out" at home. While there may be some anecdotal references to exciting experiences and that "things are changing", it seemed to me that society is still not that accepting of homosexuality. Remember it is a country where, while there is freedom of religion, the vast majority are Muslims. I would keep my expectations really low regarding gay experiences

I have been a few times to IST and I really didn't like much gay attitude there. Too closeted... so people act awkwardly. Never been to a sauna... my Turkish friends warned me against (too dirty and Turkish escort + Western guy type if you know what I mean).
For clubs/bars, I like "Love Dance Point", which is right next to the Hilton. It is quite pretentious ... but it is cool... I visited some other gay bars and they were a bit depressing/weird.
