MegatopLover, I hope you have a GREAT time! I'll be taking the opposite trip to escape and visit family and friends near San Francisco. My partner will doubtless be on the street with his high-powered water gun, soaking and getting soaked.

As a Farang (foreigner) who lives in BKK, and right in the thick of the Silom area at that, I really enjoy getting AWAY from the craziness during Songkran. That said, enjoy yourself! There will be LOTS of hunks and cuties on the street, and everyone will be in a gay and friendly mood!

Thanks for your good wish, ThaiDan. Mr. Megatop and I used to do the same as you, though for shorter trips. For example, for Songkran 2005, he flew KE to SFO and we met there for wine country and good times in the city. A couple of years later, I saw Songkran myself for the first time and enjoyed it thoroughly.

As a farang with a Thai b/f, I look forward to flying into BKK for all the revelry of Songkran, even when the mood is dampened by unrest, as it was last year. Hopefully this year will be quiet, with good fun and good cheer had by all.

Meeting Mr. Megatop in KL, coming in from Bangkok. Though short, this will be our second time in KL. Then it's up to Langkawi for our first visit there. After that, back to Bangkok for my birthday over Memorial Day weekend. Most of my MH tickets are award tickets using Delta SkyMiles. To keep the rate at 120k, I bought revenue tix on DL to reach LAX.
